Gitlens has a File History section that shows you a list of changes to the current file. GitLens has a great feature that lets you easily compare your current branch to main to see the differences between both. This is obviously risky, especially when I have to switch branches or pull down new changes! I have a habit of not commiting changes because it's just so darn easy to see the changes I've made in the Source Control tab.

This extension is a Git powerhouse! It lets you navigate changes, see inline blames, compare branches, and even shows you the last commit of the current line! There are just too many features to list, you have to check it out for yourself! This is my favorite theme for VSCode! It's easy on the eyes, well balanced, nothing too crazy and nothing too boring.
